Brief Background:
Thomas Anders first job was serving at the counter, in his mother's grocery store, in Munstermafeld at the age of 7.

He learned to play the piano at the age of 5 and sang at local village celebrations & the church choir at the age of 7.

He studied A - levels in German and music in Mainz, near Frankfurt

In 1980, Thomas was signed by the CBS Record Company and recorded several songs in German, of which none were a success.

While married to Nora (the Modern Talking era) he was never without his gold chain, with her name inscribed on it.

Before Modern Talking:
Thomas was approached by the German Record Company - Hansa Intersong in 1982 and they recorded several songs in German, all written & produced by the then unknown Dieter Bohlen.

In1983, Dieter decided that they should record a song, "Pick up the phone" in German, originally performed by the French singer, F.R. David. There was no chart success, until the first English song was produced.

After Modern Talking:
After the Split of Modern Talking in late 1987, Thomas & Nora did a few tours & concerts, as "Modern Talking - The Final Concert", one of which was in South Africa, in 1988, held at the Sun City Superbowl, without Dieter.

Back-up singers included his wife, Nora & a very pretty girl, Utah.

In 1989, he moved to Los Angeles, CA with his wife Nora to produce several solo albums.

His most successful album was "Different" and had a couple of hits, such as

"Love Of My Own", "Soldier", "One Thing", "True Love", "The Sweet Hello - The Sad Goodbye", "My One & Only" and "How Deep Is Your Love".

The most noteable difference in Thomas, since the Modern Talking day's was that he tied his long hair back into a ponytail, to try and distinguish between himself as a solo artist and the Thomas Anders from Modern Talking.

In 1993, Thomas and Nora split & Thomas cut his long hair back in 1995.

Thomas moved back to Koblenz, Germany in 1994 and since then had various telephone conversations with Dieter.

In 1998, Dieter Bohlen asked Thomas if he wanted to reunite as Modern Talking once again and Thomas agreed, only this time there was to be more effort from Thomas.

Thomas now writes about 10% of Modern Talking's material and is also in charge of the Official Modern Talking Fan Club.

During his years as a solo artist, Thomas Anders released a total of 5 solo albums, 4 in English and 1 in Spanish (Barcos De Crystal)
